The Power of Faith

Once upon a time, there was a priest in a village who was quite known for his religious achievements. He used to hold mass gatherings and give sermons and religious lectures to the people of the village to inspire them towards God. One day, an old woman who was very devotional towards God was listening to his lecture. He was saying that whoever takes the name of Ram and does anything, gets full success. Also, the impossible can be made possible by the name chanting of Ram.

So, the old woman believed it totally. That day, she had to go to the other side of the shore to meet some of her relatives for some important purpose. Unfortunately, the boat was not available and she had to go, it was quite important. Then, she thought, let me chant the name of God and cross the water as the priest advised. She took the name of Ram and crossed the lake, and in the same way, she came back. While she was returning, she chanted and crossed over the lake by walking on it.

This was like a miracle and many villagers, including the priest, were watching it. After she arrived on the shore, the priest asked how did she manage to walk over the lake. Does she possess some extra powers?

Listening to this, the old woman said, "Oh venerable, it was as per your teachings that I crossed the lake, chanting the name of Ram. The Lord protected me and helped in crossing the lake." The priest was astonished that how it was possible for this to happen. So, he himself tried and started to drown, and two people jumped into the lake to rescue him.

Finally, he realized that the old woman’s devotion was true and that is why she received the help of the Lord. Merely chanting God's name is not enough, but chanting from the true devotion of Heart is beneficial and fruit-bearing.

Moral: Faith can move mountains and create miracles.

Waves, Winds, and Whispers — My Port Blair Story

I travelled to Port Blair with my sister from 28th October to 1st November, 2025. It felt like the perfect time to visit — the weather was pleasantly warm, the skies clear yet gentle, and the sea calm enough to welcome us. Budget-wise too, it was a great decision since it wasn’t the peak tourist season. There was a sense of ease everywhere — in the quiet beaches, in the slow rhythm of the island, and even in our own hearts. This was my first trip with my sister alone, and that made it special from the very beginning. I was excited and curious about what the journey would bring — not just in terms of places to see, but in the bond we would share. My intention was simple: to explore the island together, to laugh, to talk, and in the process, to understand each other a little more deeply. We spent around four nights and five days in Port Blair — a duration that felt just right. More than five days might have felt a bit repetitive since the island doesn’t have a vast number of places to ex...

Embracing the transitions in life with faith

“Change is the only thing that is constant in life.” We, as humans, undergo changes in our day-to-day lives. We experience change as a moment of unsettling and transition into something new. The intensity of change could be a major one whereby we undergo structural and systemic change transforming from one phase of life to another. This pushes us out from a static state of existence to a dynamic ever-changing being. We do feel a certain level of discomfort while going through these transitions, but having faith and hope in our hearts does make a great difference.  Let's take a moment to consider the underlying reasons why a change might be uncomfortable. Changes can represent transience and mortality. One significant transition in human existence that we all go through is death. Every change is a small death in itself, whereby the old dies and the new is born. As humans, we have a tendency to cling to life and have attachment to the existing state, I suppose this is one of the root...
