For the Guru, seen as a beloved friend

O my dearest friend Lead me on...  Lead me unto the fountain of effulgence...  Lead me on...  With your soulful songs, break my deep slumber...  It seems to me...  The ancient unknown traveler has come With the blissful resonance of consciousness  With the rhythm and songs of bliss  With the Invocation of The one...  My life overflows with magic..  O my dearest friend  Lead me on... By your magic mirror  Whatever i do or think O Lord, you know it all...  The pulsation of life  The evolution of ages..  You know all the secrets  You are present in all manifestations  It seems by your touch  O my Bandhu, The gloomy despair of my soul  Has been dispelled away...  ALL my movements now  Move in the flow of exquisite beauty  Towards the One Infinite Light!!

Deeper Knowing of the "I"

In this article, we are going to explore our deeper identity and understand it from a holistic perspective.  It is such a dilemma, that we try to gain awareness and knowledge about the whole world, but when it comes to our own selves we somehow lack connectivity with our deeper existence and have a shallow awareness of our own being. So friends, let us take out some time and meet our own self… Every human knows and recognizes his identity as his name and physical form. He also may identify with his family background, his culture, his country, his professional qualifications, his personality strengths, and his weaknesses. For most of us, this covers the definition of I. But let us take a pause, and reflect, is this only I? When we read religious books or spiritual texts, we come to know that there is something more to our identity these identifications, the awareness of which could be leading to a greater inner fulfillment. Beautiful Ingredients We call ourselves Human Being which is hu

As the Self so the World appears

Once upon a time, there lived a family on the top of hills. There was, in that family, parents and a young boy and girl. The kids used to go to the tip of the mountains and play and have fun. One day, the boy went towards the tip and shouted, "I hate you!!" This voice echoed, came back, and as he hears the same voice, "I hate you!!"  he got sacred and felt "oh my gosh! Where is this voice coming from?" "…I hate you …" He ran back to his mom. He held her tightly and said, "Mummy, the mountain is shouting I Hate you!!" His mother understood the reason and asked him what he said to the mountains. The boy said that he shouted, "I hate you…" Then the mother made him understand that a phenomenon called echo happens, whereby whatever we send, hits us back and echoes… So if he said "I hate you" then this voice shall only return back. She then told him to go shout "I love you!!" So, the boy with his sister went out

The Desire for Awakening

Once upon a time, there was a Master who was Self-realized and lived in the internal area of a forest. There he was visited by many people who were looking for enlightenment and spiritual awakening. One day, a person came to him looking for spiritual awakening and insisted to be taken under the Master's discipleship. As he insisted a lot, the Master agreed to him. He gave him some karma yoga to do in the forest and the person was busy with that. Days, weeks passed, but there was no knowledge given to him or technique taught to him by the Master. So, the disciple got disappointed and thought of talking to the Master. He went to the Master and said that Venerable, it has been days that I have been working hard in the forests but you haven’t given me the knowledge of Self-realization. Please, guide me. So, the Master said, come with me. Saying that, he took him to a river nearby and put his mouth underwater. He started to feel suffocated and cried for air…The Master then took out his

The Power of Faith

Once upon a time, there was a priest in a village who was quite known for his religious achievements. He used to hold mass gatherings and give sermons and religious lectures to the people of the village to inspire them towards God. One day, an old woman who was very devotional towards God was listening to his lecture. He was saying that whoever takes the name of Ram and does anything, gets full success. Also, the impossible can be made possible by the name chanting of Ram. So, the old woman believed it totally. That day, she had to go to the other side of the shore to meet some of her relatives for some important purpose. Unfortunately, the boat was not available and she had to go, it was quite important. Then, she thought, let me chant the name of God and cross the water as the priest advised. She took the name of Ram and crossed the lake, and in the same way, she came back. While she was returning, she chanted and crossed over the lake by walking on it. This was like a miracle and ma

The Manager who greeted all

Once upon a time, there was a manager of a cold storage unit who was of a kind disposition. He was a cheerful person and full of life. He had a unique quality of greeting everyone he met. He was regular with his warm greetings as he entered and also while he left. Everyone loved him for his warm gesture. One day it so happened, that he was by chance locked in a room while inspecting, and by mistake, the door was locked by the guard who was oblivious to his presence inside the room. The manager realized what happened and started shouting for help but no one came forward to help him. His phone too went out of signal. He waited for some help with his fingers crossed. The main guard at the security felt that something was missing today. What? He realized that the manager did not greet him. He thought that normally it is not possible that the manager will forget to greet him, and it might be that he got trapped. So, he started checking the rooms one by one. And then, in one of the rooms, he

You and the World as One

Once upon a time, a father and his small child were sitting. The child was trying to solve a puzzle. It was a puzzle of the World Atlas of seven continents. He was unable to solve the puzzle. So, his father had a look and helped him to solve the riddle. The father quietly turned the puzzle pieces upside down and the pieces were of a human body. So, it was quite easy for the child to complete the puzzle. As soon as the child completed the puzzle, the father showed him that the puzzle upside down was the map of the whole world. So, as it was not easy for the child to solve the puzzle from world-perspective, but it became so easy when he tried to solve it from a human being's perspective. Moral: We as individuals represent the World, each one is a micro-unit of the big macrocosm of the world. We and the world are not separate units, but integrated as one. Self-change shall make a great impact on the world and bring a world change. Self-transformation shall bring world transformation.

The Test of being in Witness Consciousness

Once, Buddha was taking a test on his disciples. He was holding a lotus flower in his hands and asking his disciples to express what comes to their hearts on seeing the lotus flower. Many of them told many things. Some said that seeing the lotus, the adage comes to my mind that while being in the world, rise above your worldly consciousness. The way being in the muddy water, lotus is above the mud, it is not affected by the mud or pulled down on it. Likewise many of them said many things. Some praised the beauty of lotus saying that it looks so pure, so beautiful, etc. Buddha honored all of their opinions and expressions but was not happy as the answer which he expected still didn’t come. Lastly, the lotus was passed to Buddha's greatest disciple Ananda, and his response was to smile… a sweet smile. He said that I am seeing the lotus just as it is and has no opinion for the reality that I am witnessing. Hearing this, Buddha's heart got elated and he said this was the answer I w

Smile brings the Beauty to our Face

Once, there was a beauty competition for young kids in a school. So, the teacher announced that all students should dress up well and get prepared for the upcoming competition. So all kids tried their best to put up the best dresses and get groomed well. Now, the day of the competition came. All kids were in their best dresses. They came on the stage one by one and introduced themselves, they were clad in the best of costumes but unfortunately, most of them were not seeming happy and joyful. It seemed the anxiety of competition had taken over them and they were not in the best of spirits. Out of so many of them, only one kid was cheerful, happy, and joyful. She has not only a charming dress but a heart-touching smile which touched the audience and also the judges. Eventually, she won the competition. The judges announced that it was especially for the beautiful smile coupled with a glamorous outfit that shined upon her face which made them choose her over the rest. Moral: A smile can c

The Three Angels

Once upon a time, there lived a small family of 4 people who were devotional and had immense faith in God. They used to pray, chant, and do acts of kindness to help underprivileged people. One day, they were visited by 3 Angles; Angel of Love, Angel of Wealth, Angel of Health. So the three angels visited them and said that God has become very happy with your conduct and would love to reward you, so he sent us to you!! But, the condition is that only one angel can enter your house. Hearing this, there was a conflict in the family, the father said I want the angel of wealth to come in, the mother said she wants the angel of health to come inside but their little daughter insisted on calling the angel of love inside the house. So, after a lot of deliberation, finally, the parents agreed to invite the angel of love inside. So, the angel of love started entering their home, and with it entered the angel of wealth and the angel of health. The family was surprised to see this scene. What was

God listens to the Voice of Heart

Once upon a time, there was a cowherd boy who used to take his entire cattle for grazing every day. He was a young boy with a lot of energy and a devotional heart. Whilst his cattle used to graze, he had free time which he made use of by talking to his best friend, God, whom he lovingly called Abba. He used to talk to Abba for long hours while maintaining a corner eye on his cattle too. One fine day, a Brahmin priest was passing by from there where he saw the young boy, talking to someone in great ecstasy seeing which he was surprised. He asked the young boy in amazement that whom are you talking to… So, the boys said that I am talking to my Abba, the Supreme Soul, God!! Hearing this, the face of the priest immediately changed and he began making nasty remarks on the young boy…He started to scold the boy that you are not fit for worship, connecting to God in this way is an absolute violation of Vedic dharma and you have sinned by not following the rules. The young boy got so nervous an

The Diamond is within You

Once upon a time, there were 3 angels who were flying towards God to know the location of the presence of Precious Jewel - The Valuable diamond in the human world. God, the creator of this Universe, smiles at them in a very loving way and says that oh my sweet angels, please fly and search yourself, and then I will guide you. The angels start searching from one place to another looking for the precious stone. One angel flies inside the water bodies, seas, oceans and tries to search but unfortunately could not find any. The other angel also searches the cities and villages where human settlement is there but could not find there too. The third angel searches all the other natural habitats like forests, deserts, etc. but there too could not find any precious jewel. So, unfortunately, all the angels went to the Source of creation, to God, and said that they could not find the diamond. God again smiled, a smile filled with wit and all-knowing grace. God then says, Oh my Angels you have sea

Ego, the hijacker of our True Consciousness

Ego, you are the hijacker of our true consciousness, The source of all vanity, The root of illusions, The limited sense of self, The illusory “I”, Making me a judge, Whereby my real divinity fudge, Our mind starts inferring, What the ego is preferring, Seeing oneself as Hero, And others as Zero, Giving my demeanor a serious blow, Creating a place for Satan to glow, The Ocean considering itself as the bubble, Such a dilemma, Knowing the true “I am”, Will lift up the veil of ignorance, And help us to truly awaken our consciousness, Let’s not allow ego to hijack our true consciousness.
